Eye examinations, never rushed

At Nu-Sight Opticians in Aylesbury your eye examination is tailored to your specific requirements, and if more time is required, it will be given.

What happens in a Nu-Sight eye examination?

With Nu-Sight Opticians you can rest assured that you will be in good hands. We offer thorough eye examinations that are tailored to you. We’ll greet you with a warm welcome and you’ll receive an eye care experience that is completely focused on you and your requirements.

We will examine your eyes both internally and externally to assess their health and to look for any underlying problems. Technologies that may be used include an OCT Scan and an Optomap Retinal Scan. We also offer VDU assessments for those who use a lot of screens in their daily lives.

Who is it for?

  • Patients of all ages, because health matters at every stage of life
  • Discerning spectacle wearers looking for a more personalised approach
  • Anyone who spends a lot of time on computers, phones and TVs (VDU assessment)
  • People who want clear results about both their eyesight and the health of their eyes

What to expect

  1. 01

    History and lifestyle

To help us understand your vision and eye health better, we’ll first talk to you about your eye history and the type of lifestyle you lead.

  2. 02

    Examining your eyes

We examine your eyes internally and externally. An OCT scan builds a cross section of the back of your eye, and the Optomap views a 200° area of the retina instead of the 30° a traditional retinal camera can take.

  3. 03

    Testing your vision

Your distance vision, used for watching TV and driving, and your near vision, used for reading, using a computer and close-up work, both with and without spectacles or lenses.

  4. 04

    Explaining your results

Your optometrist talks you through their findings, so you have a full understanding of your results and what measures, if any, are recommended to protect your eyesight.

What happens after my eye examination?

If required, you will then have the opportunity to speak with our Dispensing Optician or Optical Advisor who can help you with spectacles or contact lenses. If these are required, we will take measurements to ensure that your frames fit you perfectly.

Common questions

The Advanced Optometry Eye Examination is a minimum of 40 minutes. Nu-Sight does not adhere to strict time slots, so if more time is required, it will be given.
